How to Ride Transit Using Your Phone

  • Download your mobile app of choice from the options above
  • Purchase passes to use immediately or store them for future rides (note: an internet connection is required to purchase and activate a mobile pass)
  • As the bus approaches open your app and tap your pass to activate
  • Once onboard follow instructions in the app to validate your ticket

General Public
Reduced/Senior

ID Required

To qualify for a reduced fare (either by cash, multi-trip tickets, or monthly pass), the passenger must show 1 of the following forms of identification (ID): TransIT reduced fair ID card, Temporary reduced fare eligibility certification on TransIT letterhead, City of Frederick senior citizen or handicapped ID card, MVA-issued ID card showing age 60+ or disability, Other transit system’s ID, or a Medicare ID
Youth/Student

ID Required

Please be prepared to show a valid student ID card.

Fare Descriptions

Name Description
One Way

Valid for a One Way Ride. Ticket will display for 60 minutes.
One Way w/Deviation

Valid for a One Way Ride with a Deviation. Ticket will display for 60 minutes.
One Day

Day passes are valid until midnight.
10 Ride

Pack of 10 passes, each valid for 60 minutes after first use.
20 Ride

Pack of 20 passes, each valid for 60 minutes after first use.
Monthly

Month passes are valid for 31 consecutive days after first use and expire at midnight on the 31st day.
